After many years of involvement in art and antique restoration Bruce started working on his own paintings in 1996. Over the past few years it has become his principle vocation as his self confidence, self expression and skills steadily developed. This observation becomes self evident when one looks at his current work which is very bold, pure, spontaneous and unrestrained. His work typically fosters a longing within the observer to be able to express oneself, experiences and emotions in such an unfettered and intense manner. It is rare to witness a man of his age who has retained an innocent perspective which he is able to express with such authenticity, sensitivity and skill.

When asked what inspires his paintings, Bruce will respond "I'm not painting paintings, I'm painting emotions.". He is also deeply inspired by nature, the power and beauty of women, the dance of relationships and desire, his "dream" states and the simple aspects of life.

His works are currently in the collections of buyers from Canada, United States, England, Scotland, Spain and Australia. As a keen observer I take a particular interest in Canadian artists who are on the verge of or deserve a major breakthrough in recognition. In my opinion, Bruce's work is stunning and powerful and is developing at a rate I have never witnessed before - without compromising the expression of his inner inspiration. Bruce demonstrates all the hallmarks of a great artist.
